First your chao must have reincarnated three times, when it's a baby give every small animal to your chao and when it grows up it will become a chaos chao. What animals it received in previous lives doesn't affect the chaos chao process, just make sure that it receives one of each animal during its infancy in its third reincarnation.

Occasionally when you give your chao the bat small animal it will lose it's legs or actually they are invisible!! To make them reappear give your chao the Skeleton Dog small animal they can be found mostly in pumpkin hill.

Carry the ananimal, get close to your chao so that your shadow is near your chao and put the animal. The chao will get the states + you can use it again and again! This can also be used in sonic adventure dx
