How do you get apps on an ipod touch 1st gen i paid 9.99 then bought the apps they showed up on my touch but they wouldn't load?

My best piece of advice would be jailbreak it or find somone else who can do it for you. Once you have jailbroken it you have cydia and installous and can get apps completely free. The only problem is void your warranty if you mess up the jailbrake.

when you sync your ipod, select apps on the side bar. you should get a message saying these apps are unavailable to download and you have to authorize it basically. if not, click on the apps and then click download off to the side

The only time I can imagine they'd charge for the iPod Touch is if you bought something off the internet via iPod Touch, but the charges wouldn't go towards the iPod Touch, only your credit card, banking account, or whatever you used to purchase with.
