If you look in the "/private/var/folders" you will be able to find this. You will need to go down each folder to search for Trash Directory or Intermediate Trash Directory.
If you are quick in searching for your video or picture, then they should be in here.

I have been researching this too because my mom bought a mac-book from a coworker and they had forgotten the admin password, so I had to hack the computer and reset it to factory settings and it deleted Photo Booth and all the other applications that cam on the disk that was supposed to come with your mac. Unfortunately the co worker didn't have the disk so I cant get it back. But all you have to do if you have the disk is put it in your drive and reinstall Photo Booth. If you don't have the disk like me, and you find an answer post it here cause I really want it back too.

Many ways to fix this. Open the trash can and drag it out. If you emptied the trash go to finder and search Photo Booth. If you are using Time Machine then you will have it on the external hard drive. If you have the original install disk just insert it and just click the Optional Installs option. Click continue and then choose Applications and then check Photo Booth. Click continue and it will reinstall Photo Booth.
