How do you get banana trees on Animal Crossing?

You can't get banana trees on Animal Crossing. You can only get peach, apple, pear, coconut, cherry and orange trees. If you want them send a your native fruit to your towns folk and they will send you a rare fruit.

After getting the first rainbow, you can talk to Pascal and he will ask if you want to go to Toucan Island. Go there and go inside the Pinneapple Inn. The man (Samson) behind the desk sells bananas. You can buy one from him.

You can shake trees by walking up to the trunk and pressing [a] or you can go to the beach and see if a coconut has washed up. Pick it up by pressing [b].
