You can obtain bodyguards by doing some jobs, by gifts and by fighting.
The Bodyguard in Mafia Wars is a item you obtain one from doing the job, " Protect Your City Against A Rival Family"; Hitman Tier (lvl 18 - 24).
They are a loot item on the himan Tier.
In Mafia Wars, a game made by Zynga for Myspace, you need to complete specific jobs to acquire looted items. Now remember, you may have to do the job a few times before you get the looted item, so don't give up just keep trying. Here is a comprehensive what jobs you

The best way that I have found to get the items you are looking for is to build up your energy so that you can perform the job multiple times in a row. In general it can take up to 4 times in a row before you actually receive a looted item (sometimes more). So for the Napalm you would want to have 160/Energy to preform that job 4 times in a row.

If you are looking to gain experience points then the best job is Beat Up Rival Gangster, this job has a 2:1 Experience/Energy ratio. If you are looking to gain money than the best job is Exterminate Rival Family which pays out $3,000,000 - $6,000,000.
