My wife has always used ice, a toothbrush and a vaccuum. The ice makes it very brittle and the toothbrush breaks it up, then simply vaccuum the area. I'm not sure what "microfiber" consists of but I don't see why this would not work on it. It certainly wouldn't do any damage.
