One way is to freeze the jeans. Put them into a polythene bag and place in the freezer for a few hours until frozen. The chewing gum will become very brittle and should be able to be picked off easily.

Put the jeans in a cold freezer overnight and the gum should crack off if you do it quickly

Pull off as much as possible first then you may also try Lestoil. Lestiol is a general purpose cleaner that will also remove grass stains, clean paint brushes from oil based paints, refresh crusted up paint brushes; including hard to remove tar and pine sap. As always follow instructions on label. May take more than 1 try on old stains.

Rub an ice cube over it until it is hard. You can then scrape it off.

Freeze the jeans and then pick off the gum. I hear peanut butter helps and also spicy brown mustard.
