WikiAnswers ranks your contributions by how many questions, answers, edits and community work you contribute to the WikiAnswers community.
Message Boards and Question Discussions both count as community contribution points on WikiAnswers.
WikiAnswers Supervisors and Community Assistants can see all contributions by an IP address.
Unless the question specifically asks for an opinion, nobody owns any of the contributions to WkiAnswers - it is a collaborative effort made by the community.
The highest contributor level on WikiAnswers is Ruby Contributor (500,000 contributions or more). Community Assistants (Answers.com employees) could be considered the highest "ranked" on WikiAnswers. Scott Moore (username Struwwelpeter) is the head of the Community Assistants.
WikiAnswers is a Q&A wiki; it relies mainly on contributions from the community to answer questions. Therefore, questions submitted may not always be answered.
Your account or IP is blocked by Supervisors if your contributions violate the Community Guidelines or Community Etiquette (rules). You can find these in the Help Centre.
To build friendships in the WikiAnswers community, head on over to the community forum (link on your left once logged in), introduce yourself to the community and try to make contributions of value.
Orange is a motif of WikiAnswers; this stems mainly from the Orange Guy, the WikiAnswers Community Mascot. However, depending on the primary contributions of a user, orange is not necessarily the most common color.
The Ruby level contributor is the highest-level badge you can earn for contributions. To get this badge, you need to make 500,000 contributions. You can do this by answering/editing questions, organization, asking questions, or community.
Unless you are a paid employee of WikiAnswers, you will not be paid for your contributions. WikiAnswers is a wiki, a community site that people contribute to because they want to, not for payment. You can, of course, earn prizes in some of the various WikiAnswers competitions (for example, you can win book vouchers).
Your total WikiAnswers contribution points are calculated as the sum of all of the contribution points you have earned. These include first answers, edits, organizational actions, questions asked, and community contributions. All of these points come under the heading of "Contributions" in your WikiAnswers profile. Trust points are slightly different. Contributors do not directly earn these points through their contributions; they are awarded trust points by other WikiAnswers users. Therefore, trust points are not counted as contributions, and do not add to the contribution points total in a WikiAnswers profile.
