I have tried to dip dye my hair several times but it didn't work out because I have dark brown hair. If you have light hair read on.

Items you will need:

-plastic container

-gloves (any type really)

-food dye (obviously)

-newspaper (optional)

-conditioner (any brand

-aluminium foil

Step 1: put a cup full of conditioner and put 5 drops of your food dye and mix.

Step 2: put gloves on and take the desired amount and mix it in your hair.

Step 3:once you've mixed it in your hair, get some aluminian foil and wrap it around the area you've put in your hair.

Step 4: leave in your hair for 1 1/2 hours then slowly take the wrapping out.

You might have to dye it as a last resort. I would first try lots of soap and water. If that fails, you could try shampoo or hair treatments that contain natural oils. Sometimes lice shampoo is good for getting things other than lice out of the hair such as adhesives and pigments. You could try hair toner. It might not get all the stuff out, but it will add additional color.

You would have to have blonde or chemically lightened hair. First you would wash and dry your hair to remove any oils. Then you would apply a mixture of food coloring or KoolAid. You might want to try using vinegar or salt as a chemical stabilizer. You would have to experiment to find the ratio. You might try using it straight if you want streaks. Then you just let it dry.

Is a mixture a physical orchemical reaction?

a mixture is a physical reaction because, by definition, a mixture is the combination of 2 or more substances and they maintain their chemical properties. For example putting food dye in water is a mixture because although it looks like a color change (clear to colored) it is merely the dye molecules diffusing throughout the water while maintaining their chemical properties.

How do you separate water and food dye?

If you wish to retrieve the water but not the dye, add a stick of celery or two into the mixture and leave for a while. The dye will penetrate the celery, changing the colour of it, while leaving most (98%) of the water. This is called osmosis. If you want to keep the dye but not the water, simply VERY slowly heat the mixture so that the water evaporates. Or, if you're not in a rush, leave in on a windowsill for a few hours or days for the sun to evaporate the water naturally. Eventually you'll be left with the dye. This is called evaporation.
