No but, the ignition has to be on (KOEO, Key On Engine Off).
turn the key from the off position to the on position without starting the car 3 times, finishing with the key in the on position but without the engine running. this enables the check engine light to display any engine fault codes.
turn the key on then off 2 times then turn on and check engine light will flash your codes. if you need to know what they are e-mail me rein16502666@yahoo.com I will send them to you.
The Check Engine Light should be on if the sensor is faulty. The car may or may not hesitate, stall, or accelerate poorly. To read the engine error codes, cycle the ignition key from "off" to "on" three times: Turn the iginition key to the "on" position where the check engine light comes on but do not start the car. Turn the ignition key to off, then on, off, and on again and leave the key there. The odometer will read out any error codes. P0340 and P0344 are trouble codes for the camshaft position sensor.
A key code refers to a series of alphanumeric characters that are usually used by the locksmiths to create a key. There are basically two types of the key codes the biting codes and the blind codes.
OBDII vehicles are not programed to allow this feature anymore..since 1996 to present..scanners only... well i just turned the key off and on 3 times and it shows on the display at odmeter some codes, which i had to buy a book to understand what they mean I thought that you were referring to the Check Engine Light flashing the codes. What codes did you receive on the odometer?
cant you need a scanner to check codes from 1996 and newer
