You could get a ferry to Wales or England from Dublin and then go by road or rail to Edinburgh. You can also get a ferry to Scotland from Larne, near Belfast, which you could travel to by road and/or rail to from Dublin.

The simplest way is to fly. It is also possible to get ferries from Dublin or other parts of Ireland to Britain and then get to Edinburgh by road or rail.
