The solvent for varnish is lacquer thinner, but I cannot speak to what the lacquer thinner might do to the woolen item.
Yes, but why waste the varnish. - (it is meant for bare wood )
Yes, but if it's the same base you don't even need to sand it.

Hold your nail varnish remover that is on cotton wool , on your nails for a while then slowly take it off! this usually works for me hope this helps :)
To make varnish disappear, you can use a solvent like mineral spirits or acetone to soften and dissolve the varnish. Apply the solvent with a cloth or brush, allowing it to penetrate the varnish for several minutes. Gently scrub the area with a fine steel wool or abrasive pad to lift the varnish off the surface. Always work in a well-ventilated area and wear appropriate protective gear.
Yes, the varnish is coming off the table.
you get some cotton wool and dab some nail varnish remover on it then wipe till it cums clean... hope this helps xox ;]]
Vegetable oil to get varnish off then soap and water :)
Open the windows get plenty of air flow and let it dry. May take several days. If it always stays tacky something was wrong with the varnish.
Doesn't the amount of varnish in the paint make the difference?
