You will need internet access and either a wireless router or something like a USB Wi-Fi Connector.

After you have set these up, you can access internet options on your DS/DSi (Also, games using wi-fi will have a button to set it up somewhere in the game's main menu.)

Following the instructions to set up wireless shouldn't be hard to follow, just make sure you enter a password and allow the Nintendo DS to access the internet (if you're using a router).

The DS, DS Lite and Regular DS Games won't support WPA encryption, so if you want to add a password, make it WEP.
