To open up the pieces there are two tabs at each end that when pressed in with a screwdriver should allow you to pull that portion of the reel apart. Repeat this process until both halves are freed up. The rest of the disassembling is with a screw holding the crank side together, and several screws on the inside of the reel holding the hose assembly together. To reassemble just reverse the process.
