How do you get modes for Call of Duty black ops?

first, of course, log on and select MULTIPLAYER

then select the first option on the list (forget the name)

it will show a list of possible modes: player match, private match,....

select COMBAT TRAINING

there you battle against computers and you can select their skill level

If you mean Zombies maps you need to download them from xbox/ps3 live.

but if you have not gotten the map five in zombies then you can look on YouTube how to get it.
