How do you get motor oil off of a tan shirt?

if you do not already use it go buy some dawn dish detergent

dawn breaks down grease and oil plus many plumbers recommend dawn because of how it breaks down oils and grease that normally stop up your drain pipes

i use dawn on my hubbys clothes after he has been working in the garage on one of his restoration projects

apply dawn directly to the oil spots, let set a few minutes then add clothing to very hot water and wash....while dawn wont remove everything 100% it will take all the oils/grease out...oils and grease can stain clothing and dawn does not always remove the stains

those clothes that are stained can be used for work around the house in the future

even if you spill gas on your clothing use the hottest water you have and wash the clothing using dawn...might take 2 cycles to completely remove the gas smell but normally one is all i have ever used

never dry your clothing until you are sure you have all the oils/grease out..drying will only set in stain making it harder to remove

also for those with animals...if you animal gets spray by a skunk use dawn...skunk spray is oil based and dawn will remove it no problems...this happened to our English setter and after just 1 bath he was allowed back into the house
