give the food to them once a week or daily.soon they will get used to them. or you can put the veggies in their food dish and bury it in side. soon your parakeet will dig it up, think that he found something awesome and slowly peck at it.

∙ 14y agoAdd a few to the food they are eating now and increase the percentage each time you change the food. They should make the transition after a while. Watch to see if they are eating any of the pellets or just throwing them out. Some birds will only eat what they grew up on.
