For most printers, your printer's driver contains a button that, when clicked on, tells your printer to clean its print heads. The steps to cleaning your print cartridge are listed below.
- Open your start menu
- Click on "control panel"
- If your control panel format is set to "category view" click on "classic view"
- Click on "printers and faxes"
- Right click on the printer that needs to be cleaned, and left click on "printing preferences"
- Hunt through the window that popped up for a cleaning button (or a service tab)
- Push the cleaning button (once you've found it) and follow your screen's instructions.
If the steps above do not resolve your problem, or there is no cleaning button in your printing preferences window, either buy a new cartridge, or take the cartridge to an office store (e.g. InkStop) and ask them to clean or prime it.
