Problem:
The Indian meal moth come from its larvae hatching in warm conditions from products that has not been treated, normally by irradiating the food products. Food products like :
1. Birdseed, 2. Oatmeal, 3. Pasta, 4.Ceral, 5. Rice has been left open inside the cabinets and the moths hatch from the larvae and jump from product to product laying more eggs in the open product left in the cabinets. Lots of organic food grain have this problem, because organic food that is certified require no pesticide or heat treatments
Solution:
Buy plastic containers and place all of the products listed above in plastic containers, so that when the moths hatch they cannot travel outside the containers. If any of the containers contain moths, through away the food outside and reuse the container.
Keep a list of the infested products, and where you bought the product. Don't buy that product again from that store.
