Hi there my name is Daniel and I'm not a Doctor just a plain old 11 year old kid who has tons of floaters as well as you may have. Now the bad news is that you can NOT get rid of floaters your self however one thing Please Do NOT have surgery these are your eyes were talking about not a games console etc. I woke up today and more floaters appeared and I got extremely upset and the best things are to do to decrease your floaters are quite simple:

1. Drink Plenty of Water not tap water mineral water only!

2. Do a lot of exercise about 80 minutes a day!

3. Don't go near junk foods or to much meat. Eat tons of vegetables this is a extremely important rule!

4. One of the most important step and the hardest... ignore them. There not worth it!

5. Drink a glass of red wine every 2 nights however know your limits and if you are young like me do not drink any alcohol!

6. If it gets any worse or you experience flashes of light please get medical attention straight away! And also visithttp://www.aboutfloaters.com/cure.htm

and do not ever get surgery because firstly it can cost $5,000 or much more. Secondly it is very risky because you could easily get blind from it.

7. Forget them and live a good life because ''the longer you had them the less you think about them and see them!''

Thank you and I hope this helped and remember your exercise and veggies! :D

  • Though all Chinese Herbal Medicine is based on an appropriate diagnosis of the individual patient, there is one formula that can be used. Keep in mind that generally floaters are generally benign, the formula Qi Ju Di Huang Pian is often used for this condition if there dryness.
  • In Chinese medicine, eye floaters are typically attributed to a Liver imbalance, and you would take something like Free & Easy Wanderer Formula to soothe the Liver energy.
  • In addition to these great Chinese Medicine options, consider your entire diet.
    • Daily juicing of vegetables and fruits (preferably organic). A good recipe to prevent and reduce floaters: some combination of the following: garlic, parsley, beets, carrots, celery, parsnip, apple, raspberries (not too much fruit).
    • Supplement your diet with a good multivitamin formulated specifically for vision wellness.
    • For protein, emphasize fish, soy (in moderation), almonds, sunflower seed and sesame seeds. avoid meat, poultry, eggs, dairy products and most other nuts.
    • Eat brown rice and other whole grains instead of refined and processed grains (such as white bread and pasta).
    • Use unsulfered molasses and fruit juices for sweetening instead of white sugar, chocolate or honey. (Floaters are often caused by an overgrowth of yeast which is fueled by the consumption of sugar and alcohol.)
    • Drink rice, almond or soy milk, herb tea or unsweetened, diluted from fruit juices instead of coffee, tea, alcohol and dairy drinks.
    • Steam or bake foods instead of frying them.
    • Eat lots of vegetables, but avoid the nightshade family (e.g., tomatoes, green peppers, white potatoes and eggplant).
    • Minimize your use of salt.

No, you cannot get rid of them. I have them and my doctor says they do no damage, they are just very annoying.

That said, eye doctors can remove them, but they only attempt to do so in extreme cases, since there are risks. They may use a laser to bust up the particles or drain the vitreous humor.

If you have a significant increase in floaters please see a doctor right away. People with high level prescriptions are prone to this symptom which is an early indication of a more serious problem.

Eye floaters are types and some of them are treatable with medications and other are treated by surgical operation. Physiological type, which is due to normal liquefaction of vitreous body has no treatment. With time your brain will adapt these floaters and will ignore them. It needs around 4-8 months for your brain to adapt their presence.

In ayurveda, there are successful treatment methods for eye floaters. Before starting treatment, a detailed checkup is necessary. It is to rule out any other diseases such as retinal edema, retinal tear, inflammations, etc. If so, it should be controlled first. After that, treatment for floaters is very easy.
