Mildew is a sign that your duct system may need to be serviced. While the blower is running, inspect the ductwork in the basement or attic for leaks. If air is escaping out, moisture is flowing in as well, causing mold to grow in the ducts. Remove the old filter and replace it with a new one from your local home improvement store.
First clean with tylex, then air out the house. Then spray warm water and peppermint oil everywhere.
My car had fish oil poured down it I used a product called What Odor? it completely eliminated the odor i recommend trying What Odor?
Hi i have 2000 Chrysler 300m. when i put the ac or heater a bad smell comes out. how can i get rid of the odor
if you have the ac on to long it starts to stink cause the filter picks up the smell and the smell spreads i suggest you get it cleaned
== == * There is water sitting inside the AC unit that is not draining out properly. The water is from condensation pulled out of the air. Check the drain to the AC unit and clear the clog. * There could be mildew on the fins of the condenser (looks something like a car's radiator). Try spraying an anti-mildew spray (such as Lysol), directly on the fins. This should clear up the unpleasant smell.
Is the fresh air recirculation working? Is this after using AC? AC cold coil needs to be sprayed with Lysol or alcohol to remove mold mildew and bacteria. Previous driver passed gas or gunked up the seat with BO
Most auto parts stores, ie autozone, advanced auto, sell a/c deodorizer. It's caused by ciondensation in the a/c ducts. This is pretty common.
Its a funny smell? Probably Nitrous Oxide if you think it's funny. Be more specific. In most cases, like my personal case, all I needed to do was get some KlimaClean to get the mold and/or mildew out of there and now it smells like a new car!
You probably have mildew, mold or some variation growing on your coils inside your air handler. Best way to fix this if you have an AC / heater all in one unit is to turn on the heater for 10 minutes to burn off any of the growing molds and then pour some bleach down your condensation drip out pipe.
Use a fan
ya it probably smells like feet right? the problem is you probably left the car out in bad weather for too long, park your car where its safe then turn it on with A/C on and leave it for about 20-30 minutes.
turn on the ac and open the door or window
This normally indicates a refrigerant leak. STOP USING YOUR AC IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF THIS SMELL!! The fumes from the fluid in your AC system are highly toxic. The leak needs to be sorted out before the AC can be used again.
