I personally went to the chiropractor 3 days in a row and he made it better slightly but it was still bothering me. I soaked in a hot tub for an hour which made it better and if you don't have a hot tub you can have a hot bath with mineral salts to help the tension. I also found using a heating pad helped as well. The best thing I did was try to stretch it and keep going to the chiropractor. Hope that helps!

Pain in the low back is frequently the result of a low level of muscle strength or lack of use. Having a strong core, which includes your lower back and abdominals, will often minimize lower back pain. Beginning an exercise program that engages your abdominals and lower back will help strengthen these muscles. Walking, running, aerobics, swimming and boxing are all cardio activities that engage these muscles. Yoga and pilates moves are great for lower back and abdominal training. There are many yoga and pilates DVD workouts currently on the market. Some are designed specifically to strengthen the lower back.
Heat is a good way to stop back pains because heat tends to relax the muscle and calm the nerve centers that are causing you pain. A heating pad of some sort is a good way to get rid of back pains. Even massages and a trip to the acupuncturist can do wonders to your back.
