I have been told to spray WD40 on the belt, But I found putting Baby Power on the belt works great! (Temporarly) The best way is to replace the belt with a high quality belt.
In a 1995 Pontiac Sunfire : Both the 2.2 and the 2.3 litre four cylinder engines have a timing CHAIN
To fix the Pontiac Sunfire if it jumped time, the timing belt has to be replaced. Then the car has to have the timing set again after the belt is replaced.
No, it has a cam chain.
I am trying to change the belt on a 2.2 L, 96 Pontiac Sunfire. There is no adjustment on the alt. or power steering that I can see and I cant see how the tensioners work. Anyone have any ideas.
It must have a TIMING CHAIN because Gates ( they make timing belts etc . ) does not list a timing belt for the 2.2 liter or 2.4 liter engines in a 1996 Pontiac Sunfire
yes u can just get a belt for your car but w/o ac and follow the diagram that's under the hood
Generally, as you face the car from the front, the alternator should be on the left side of the engine where the belt is. The belt drives the alternator. The alt in my '96 is right up top. You'll see an electrical connector going to it.
Get a shop manual from the parts store or AUTOBOOKSONLINE.COM
Highly doubtful.
do you have to lower or lift engine to take bolt off belt tentioner 2002 pontiac sunfire.
Take a look at the belt that's driving it when the ac is on.
All 2002 Sunfires, 2.2 and 2.4, had timing chains
