It's not going to go away instantaneously. Obviously, keep putting on lip balm, Vaseline, or whatever you use. Make sure to avoid licking your lips, because that just dries them out even more.
Most likely, you have a cut, which bled then formed into a scab, which is why Vaseline may not work as well. But don't worry, it will go away soon.
I'm not sure but you can look on the ingredients on your lip gloss.
Vaseline is just a moisturizer. It does not have any bleaching effects.
