A brown recluse does not build a web to capture prey like other spiders. They do however build a cocoon-type web they use to sleep in.
I have those creatures outside my house walls as well. There has only been a few times in which I have seen a small reddish wormlike insect poke its head out. But the few times that they poked their upper bodies out they just seemed to die right away, they just completely dried out. Before u flick them away, check and see if u see their heads. These are plaster Bagworms/ They make a cocoon like shelter and d rag it around with them

depends on the type of butterfly. I have painted butterflies and there cocoon is about 2 in. where as a monach butterfly is considerably bigger.
