Disabling history and cookies in firefox did not work for me. Neither did cookie deletion tools. I have free AVG which managed to block it each time it tried to launch. There is a little pop-up in the lower part of the screen which announced this. I hit the "print screen" key and pasted this into paint. With enough time to read the location I located the file pointed to in the firefox profile folder and deleted (wiped) it with Jetico's BC wipe (free to download and use). Simple deletion to trash may also work as well.
To prevent Google Tracking you can use the Google Ads Preferences Manager and choose the 'Opt out' option on their preferences page. This will get rid of the "cookie" that Google uses to track your information.
The 2o7 cookie is a tracking cookie which registrates the sites you visit on the net. It invades your privacy and who know what else.More Information:I found what appears to be legitimate websites. There were many queries about 'cookie 2o7'. My security always catches it. The address used is my username on my web mail. They, as with many other tools, legit or otherwise, use MSN to validate their existence. I have no evidence to support the 'virus' theory. Their ISP is 207.112.xx.x I do not know all the nrs. But that is what is on 'Bing'. I do not go past the webpage. I simply do a windows scan with my security daily. My whole computer, including hardware, weekly. I also compress my disks and clean the temporary files, recycle bin, etc. I have seen problems created to sell tools. Some through 'insider trading'. I just keep my computer clean, my DSL clean, use 'in private', filter 'lock block', and try to remember no one 'gives anything away', sometimes a lucky deduction from a big corporation may fall to the end user.I had big problems with this cookie 2o7 until I did this:click on Tools\Internet Options\Security Tab\ Restricted Sites\Then click on 'Sites' and then in the box that reads 'Add this website to the zone:' type in *2o7.netAnd no more cookies from them! Hope this works for you too... Remember its a lower case letter 'o' not the zero '0' - in 2o7.
A tracking cookie is not a virus. Sometimes the cookies can be from harmful sites, but the cookie itself does have a virus.

The technology of web site tracking works in several ways. One way is for a website to place a cookie on the user's computer and other websites can access the cookie. Another way is a website embedding a 1 pixel image on the site that links to another tracking website.
Not necessarily, shopping websites all generally have tracking cookie now a days and some websites require that we load their cookies before we can view their stuff - nothing to worry about.
