Have you tried using AVG's "HEAL" feature? That took care of it on my machine.
If you're using Firefox go to "Tools" --> "Add-ons". Next click on "Extensions" and then delete or disable freeworkz.
Use the Firefox Add-On, AdBlock.

delete AVG off ur system then download Microsoft antispyware run scan the Trojan will be gone permantly. good luck, cutlass
I say get avg 7, and do a full computer scan. AVG 7 is free.(This plan might not work, but it's the only way I know how to get rid of that pesky Trojan.)
I would just download a virus software specialist like vast of avg, malwarebytes etc and do a full boot scan inclduing all rootkits
I don't know why either but it's extremely annoying, sometimes i do a search thinking i am on Google, until i get some junky result then realize..oh it's AVG search. AVG this is offensive. I will never buy anything from AVG. How do i get rid of this AVG craps.
AVG anti-virus free edition from http://www.grisoft.com seems to do the job. First use XoftSpy, it will identify the spyware with different names/alias,and clean it. Also AVG 7 works fine. Somehow I got it. Grisoft's "FREE" AVG got rid of it quickly & simply.
