Worms in cats are easily treated with worming tablets, preferably from the vet. Worming tablets from the supermarket do not kill all the parasites that cats are subject to, but tablets from the vet do. Apart from worming tablets, there's nothing special you need to do to take care of your cat.

It is recommended that worming treatment comes from the vet, as store-bought brands are often ineffective and in some cases dangerous.
If your cat does not like being given tablets, break up the recommended dosage (usually one pill) and mix them in some wet cat food and they should eat it. Many owners hide the pill in tiny bits of ham, cheese, or some other treat foods the cat loves.

∙ 10y agoI would start with a trip to the veterinarian - there are several different types of worms, and each type of worm needs a different type of medication to treat it. Your veterinarian can do a simple fecal egg float and count to determine how bad the infestation is and what the worms are, then prescribe medication for your cat.
Depending upon the specific type of worm, your veterinarian may also have instructions for how to prevent reinfestation from the environment.
