The Sims 3 is available for direct download from the EA Store online (you still have to pay the same amount as a disk version costs). This will download to your computer over the internet and you will not need a disk to play. However, this is only available for PC users and will not work on a Mac

∙ 12y agoYou need the disc in your cd drive because then there is no way you can store your data when finished on the game. I have steam though so I just have to download it and then I can play it without the disk.

∙ 9y agoyou can buy the sims 3 on the origin website. you have to create and account, then buy the game with a credit card or PayPal. I think you have to download the origin application, and log in to that and you should have the sims 3. Now all you have to do is download and install. (i think this is for all devices, but maybe only mac)
If you bought the disk then on the left you should have and instruction manual in the slot. On the back of the instructions manual there is a serial code. The manual should tell you what to do.

...kind of obvious, don't you think? You put in the disc of the game you want to play. If you want to play Sims 3, put in that disc. If you want to play one of the expansion packs, put in the disc for the correct expansion pack.

Yes. But every time you want to play it you need the disc. Also, if you have any expansion packs or stuff packs you can use that disc for one computer and the one without the expansion/stuff pack with the original Sims 3 disc (I've done it before)

well, you need to have the regular sims 3 disc installed already to play sims 3 world adventure, but u need the sims 3 world adventure disc to play that expansion pack. Unless you've downloaded it from the EA store, you don't get the disc and it still works, you pay with a credit card.
