Ok allowing you have the spark plug in the hole but the threads won't grip: You have stripped the threads. This is easy to do.
Go and buy a special for spark plugs thread repair kit. Follow the directions in the Kit.
If there is not one available for your application you probably will have to remove the cylinder head and take it to a machine shop to be repaired.
Very rarely will a machinist be able to repair on the car.
Big job, Expensive and difficult.
Good Luck
Water around the outsides of the spark plug may keep the car from running due to poor spark plug wires, but the engine should still turn over.
i change the spark plugs on my car but they keep popping out
sounds like you have stripped the threads, if so you need a " heli coil " thread repair..and follow directions. those threads will need to be repaired or retapped, and always start the threads on your spark plugs by hand and not with a wrench.
yes
=why do my plugs keep cracking in a 2000 for explorer....changed four already
With an appropriate size spark plug socket (with the rubber insert to grab the plug) twist to the left. Keep turning until you can lift it out. When installing new plugs, torque to 14 ft lbs (no more or you risk stripping the threads in the cylinder head). Cheers
It is important to replace old spark plugs to keep a car engine running well. To replace them disconnect the battery, remove the cables, remove the old spark plugs, replace with the new spark plugs, replace the cables in the correct order, and connect the battery.

Not bad if you can just keep the spark plugs from blowing out.
Well I have answered this already on another post. But to keep it simple.. Why not do 1 cylinder at a time.. Then what difference does it make for spark plugs.
