The warbird is the largest ship that you can buy, and you need to have it in order to beat Captain Crawfish. It costs 1,000,000 doubloons. But you don't need to have a million. Once you have a bit less than 500,000, you can borrow the rest from the Golden Harbor bank, and there is a little trade-in from your existing ship.
It sounds like a lot when starting out, but the larger ships hold thousands of doubloons worth of cargo.
Get the Jimmy Rigger as your first ship.
You do not have to buy the Warbird as your only ship. Normally, you will buy the ship that is next larger from your current one, then trade with it awhile to earn the doubloons for the next larger ship. As your available cargo space grows, you will earn ever-larger amounts of salvage, and make more profit. You can get ships faster with a loan from the Golden Harbor Bank (but they charge interest). When you have half of the price of the next larger ship, borrow the difference, then repay it using the larger ship. Eventually you will have the Warbird, which you need to defeat Captain Crawfish.
Trading Scheme
Use the "clockwise circular trading route" to take advantage of the cheaper price to buy some cargoes.
Buy Silk cheaply at Dragon Cove and sell it for much more at Bouffant Bay.
Buy Medicine cheaply at Bouffant Bay and sell it for much more at Parrot Port or Golden Harbor.
Buy Grain cheaply at Golden Harbor and sell it for much more at the Pirate Outpost.
Buy Spice cheaply at the Pirate Outpost and sell it for much more at Dragon Cove.
Sea Creatures and Pirates
When you have cannons, you can begin to fight sea creatures and pirates. Beating them generates a mass of salvage when they sink, enough to fill smaller ships. Skill at shooting will let you accumulate more doubloons at a faster rate, but you may still wish to trade at some times.
You can shoot sea creatures above Dragon Cove, and pirates between Golden Harbor and the Pirate Outpost. Smaller ships are at a disadvantage, but you may have some luck if the larger pirates crash into the reefs in the narrow passes around Golden Harbor.
Buy every single ship from cheapest to most expensive. You buy your ships at Dragon Cove (the Chinese place) and enter a building with an old man in it. Talk to him and you will be able to buy a ship. The cheapest one is 3000 doubloons. (coins) Buy it,try to kill weak enemies with the cannon then steal their cargo. (its a larger amount then just collecting it while you ride) The sea creatures also have cargo,so kill them too. And if you earn enough money, buy a new ship and repeat this again until you have phenix warbird.
Stuff to make this easier to do
Try to find people to hire.
One is in Dragon Cove.
Another one is in Pirate Outpost.
The third one is in Parrot Port.
And the last one is in Bouffant Bay.
They cost from 12000-20000 doubloons to hire.
Also, when you collect cargo, sell these items to these places for more money.
Spice-Dragon Cove
Medicane-Parrot Port
Grain-Pirate Outpost
Silk-Bouffant Bay or Golden Harbour
Also, there is a bank at Golden Harbour if you need some money, but you need to return the same amount of money in a few days.
Once you have assembled the 5 map pieces, and discovered the hidden island, sail there and fight Captain Crawfish. If you have the Warbird and the skilled crew (especially the Shipwright and the Cannoneer), you will be a match for Captain Crawfish and his ship.
You can defeat him but not actually sink him : when his ship's "health" falls to zero, he sails away and escapes.
Yes. And you will almost always need the Shipwright (from Dragon Cove) and the Cannoneer (from the Pirate Outpost).
Only the Phoenix Warbird can inflict damage quickly enough to defeat Captain Crawfish's ship. It is not difficult to get one, as you will buy larger ships as you can afford them and earn doubloons at an increasingly rapid rate. Even the middle-rate ships can collect thousands of doubloons in salvage.
When you have 500,000 doubloons, borrow another 500,000 from the Golden Harbor bank and quickly sail back to Dragon Cove to get the Warbird.
No offense, but that's a really stupid answer, it's un-fair, and therefor impossible you cheater-pants.
There is no way. There are no shortcuts. The game plays the same way for every user.
Nothing immediately. You need to get the largest ship, the Phoenix warbird, and hire the Shipwright and the Cannoneer. Once you have defeated Captain Crawfish, you can go back to the governor and get the directions to the treasure buried on the small island.
No. You have to raise at least 500,000 doubloons (not including loans) and you can borrow the other 500,000 from the Golden Harbor bank.
No, but it saves time, especially when you need the really big boat (Phoenix Warbird), because you can borrow 500,000 doubloons once you have that many.
Once you have all 5 map pieces, the new island (Skullduggery) appears near the Pirate Outpost. But there is nothing you can do there until you acquire a Phoenix Warbird and defeat Captain Crawfish in battle. Once that is done, return to the governor in Fort Ridley and he will give you the map to the treasure on Skullduggery, and a shovel to dig it up.
You buy all of the larger ships, including the Warbird, at the Shipbuilders on Dragon Cove. You will want to buy other ships as you can afford them, to get doubloons faster. Larger ships mean larger salvage and more cargo space.
It is the only ship with a wide beam and 3 large red sails. When you get your Phoenix Warbird, it is practically the same except that it is not outlined in black.
The average would be about 75-120 trading days. I acquired the last ship, the Phoenix Warbird, in 84 trading days.
When you have all of the map pieces from the 5 trading islands, the 6th island (Skullduggery) appears near the Pirate Outpost. You cannot do anything there until you have beaten Captain Crawfish. This will require the largest ship, the Phoenix Warbird, as well as hiring the Shipwright and Cannoneer. Once you have beaten Captain Crawfish, go to see the governor and he will give you the directions to the buried treasure on the hidden island.
it costs 1,000,000 ( one million ) doubloons. that's a lot of money! trade a lot, and EVERY day and it wont be long before you acquire it.
You chase him off. Other pirates get sunk, but he just runs off when you beat him. You need the largest ship, the Phoenix Warbird, and you need the shipwright and cannoneer as crew.
Try buying every ship in order unless you can afford one higher than the one your saving for.
