when cold remove the radiator cap and run the engine at about 1500 rpm and watch for bubbles in the fluid when you see no more bubbles top off the fluid and reinstall the rad cap PS ( top off fluid before doing this )
The above won't work, you need to bleed the coolant system, there should be at least two bleed taps somewhere in the pipework.
The idle air control valve on a 2004 Trailblazer is located inside the coolant system. This valve regulates the air that comes into the cabin.

Air can get into the cooling system when the coolant is replaced as either part of a maintenance schedule or when the system must be drained for a repair. When the coolant is replaced the coolant system must be "burped" to get any air out of the coolant lines. There are various ways to do this dependant upon the type of vehicle. A repair manual for your vehicle will describe the proper technique.

Air bound means that there is an "air bubble" in the cooling system that is preventing coolant from circulating in the cooling/heating system. (air can be compressed fluid cannot)
Add coolant to the coolant reservoir tank (a rubber tube runs from the top of the radiator to the coolant tank). The system is designed to automatically purge itself from air and replace it with coolant from the coolant tank. Watch the level of fluid in the tank and make sure you keep it filled to the "full" mark. If there is air in the system, you will notice the coolant level in the tank drop over time as the radiator draws in coolant and purges itself and the rest of the cooling system of air. Expect this to occur over several driving sessions. The cooling system is a sealed system; you can add coolant directly to the radiator when your vehicle is cold (if there is room), but NEVER when it is hot. It's best, however, to be patient by adding coolant to the reservoir tank and letting the system take care of itself.
