After the three original novels Landy is producing six more to be released beginning in 2010.---Skuldugerry Pleasant is a fictional character, a living skeleton brought back from the dead. He was a real person until he was killed in a Secret war, he was killed by the Adept called Nefarian Serpine.Nefarian killed him. By killing Skulduggery's wife and children, Neafarian had predicted that Skulduggery would not use magicin his rage and make a physical attack, so he left a dagger. Skulduggery picked up the dagger and realised it's handle had been poisoned, but it was too late.*When Skulduggery says "I'd never even suspect that the handle of the dagger I reached for was dipped in poison", he meant it metaphorically, because Serpine killed him with his red right hand.Nefarian left a dagger (metaphorically speaking). We don't know how this Exquisite trap of Serpine's worked, but we do know that some where along the line Serpine pointed at Skulduggery with his red right hand (agonising death basically) and after the detective was dead, Serpine put his body on a pike and burned it for all to see. After that all that was left was bones so Serpine had his bones collected and put in a bag and chucked in a river. It is possible that China Sorrows was keeping him tied to reality (making him 'watch' as he so put it) so he came back, and put himself back together. The head Skulduggery is wearing now is not even his -- he won it in a poker game. His real skull was stolen by some munchkin things when he was meditating. In book 4, Valkyrie manages to get his real skull back for him.---Valkyrie is the now 15 year old apprentice of Skulduggery Pleasant. Skulduggery is teaching her magic.
