the firing order is usually marked on the engine block.
the marking for the distributor can lead to being out 180°.
I did that on a Rambler - had fire coming out the carb.
Just turned it 180° and it was fine.
The firing order is printed on the block, 1-3-4-2 if I remember correctly.Start at the position nearest to the coil and continue clockwise.
They have to be in the firing order.
