Take te child lock off of the door
The door lock actuator is going bad.
One should pry the lock switch from the door panel and unplug the wiring. Then plug the new lock switch to the wiring and push the button to make sure it works. Put the new lock into door panel
It all depends on what kind of lock. It could be a lock in a canal, a door lock, an ignition lock on a vehicle, a lock of hair, a padlock, or any of many kinds of locks.
Hint: Have you checked the child-proof door lock button located in the door's door jamb to make certain it is in the unlocked position?
Make sure the door lock is set to the unlocked position, then pull on the door handle.
Depending on the year, make, and model of the car...but generally, you have to remove the inside door panel and there is usually some form of linkage attached to the lock, and a clip of some sort securing the lock cylinder to the inside of the door.

On the inside upper frame of the rear passanger door when open there are 5 bronze pegs that make contact with the door when closed, if these become dirty the electrical contact will not lock the rear door. Take fine grade sandpaper or steelwhool and shine them up, close the door and try it again.

It is probably a bad power lock actuator. it is inside the door, before removing it make sure that when the button is pressed there is power to the wire connector, if not check for cracked or broken wires leading into the door.
