In 1938 the 7.35 Carcano round was introduced, but most were either exported or later refitted back to the 6.5 round, so a Model 91 38 will use one or the other of the 6.5x52 Carcano or 7.35 x 51 Carcano. The barrel should be marked 6.5 or 7.35, but if not, have the barrel slugged.

Field strip the weapon down to the bolt and bolt carrier and then use a steel punch to drive out the firing pin retainer pin on the back edge of the bolt. The firing pin and firing pin rebound spring will drop out into your hand. To reverse that, put the bolt face down on a table and force the firing pin/spring forward into the slot to allow the retainer pin to be replaced. Reassemble weapon as usual.
Remove the rear of the action by depressing the two buttons on each side of the action. The back and springs will all pull right out. Simply slide the cocking handle off the front of the bolt, and the entire bolt will come out of the back of the action. Remove the pin from the side of the bolt, and the firing pin will fall right out. Be careful not to lose the spring on the firing pin; they are difficult to replace.
an open bolt gun is simply a gun that fires from an open bolt, the only time the bolt is closed is during the firing and when the firing is stopped the bolt remains open. many open bolt guns have an integral firing pin machined directly on the bolt examples of open bolt guns: uzi mac Thompson 1928
the rifle, a mannlicher-carcano rifle, is in the US national archives.
Open the bolt. On the top of the bolt, near the firing pin, is a clip that runs most of the length of the bolt. at the firing pin, push this clip up so that it clears the bolt and turn it to the right. then remove the bolt.
At the start of the firing sequence, the bolt is held to the rear. Pulling the trigger permits the bolt to move forward, stripping a cartridge from the magazine, chambering, firing, extracting and ejecting it. A closed bolt gun starts the firing squence with a round already chambered, and the bolt closed on the cartridge. The M3 Greasegun was an open bolt, the Thompson SMG a closed bolt.

A bolt is one of the main components of a firearm - it's a part in loading the cartridge, firing (in conjunction with a firing pin), and ejecting the spent cartridge.
If you look at the bolt face, a center fire rifle will have the firing pin located in the center of the bolt. A rimfire rifle will have the firing pin located on the outside edge of the bolt.
