All character performers at the Disney Theme Parks are required to audition. Face characters, or character look-alikes, need to meet certain physical prerequisites such as height, body type, hair and skin coloring. They also need performing skills. Disney holds auditions at the park Casting Center and occasional out-of-town-dates.

Yes, you can be a star on Disney Channel. However, most of the acting is done in Burbank, California and in order to be a "star" you would need an agent and send in auditions for shows and/or movies. Or you can get a job at Disneyland Tokyo as a prince/princess.

As a freshman, Walt Disney took night courses at the Chicago Art Institute. Disney at 16 then dropped out of high school to join the army only to be rejected. However, Disney was able to join the Red Cross. After his service, he went to France to drive ambulances. A year later, Disney returned home to then find himself with no job. Yet Disney persevered, getting himself a job with Pesman-Rubin Art Studio. Finally Disney started "Iwerks-Disney Commercial Artists" and the journey to Disneyland begun.
