How do you get the power harness away from the light bulb in the head-light of a 91 Geo LSi?

I have a Geo LSi, but its a 1997. The power harness and bulb are held in place with a spring clip, which is accessible after you unscrew a plastic ring and remove a rubber boot. The boot isn't really removed, just pull on the tab on the boot and it will reveal the bulb, but it is still around the wires. One side of the clip hinges and the other side is held in place with a catch. Push in and up on the side with the catch and swing it out of the way of the bulb. Now you have the bulb and harness in hand.

pop the headlight up , turn off the key. Remove black trim around head light bulb with screwdriver. Remove the retaining screws holding the bulb in place . Be careful notice the difference between the "alignment screws" . These are used to aim the light. There are three retaining screws. There's no need to remove them entirely; just loosen them enough that the trim ring is able to rotate. Rotate the trim ring and and remove it. Pull out the old light SLOWLY to avoid damage to the wire harness on the back of the light. Carefully disconnect the harness , it has a clip you must squeeze, dont just pull it . Remove old light . Hook harness to new light , put new light in. Place the trim ring over the screws and rotate to lock it in place. Tighten the three retaining screws. Turn key on , and check the light beam . If its were it used to be , continue to black trim piece. If not , you need to re-align with the "alignment" screws mentioned above . Dont worry , you cant hurt anything . Then reinstall the Black trim .

Inboard of either light is 2 screws, one high and one low, you can tell which ones are attached to the light assembly. Remove these 2 screws. Remove the screw on the very corner of the fender, it looks like it holds nothing, but it in fact is a mounting tab for the corner parking light. Pry the front of the parking light out away from the main light and it'll pop loose of the socket (it may be on pretty good, use the headlight as a pry point and use a screwdriver prying against a piece of cardboard or something if you feel the light will be damaged) then you pull it straight forward as it has hook like stays on the rear edge. Now you can work out the main light with back and forth rocking motion, itll eventually come loose and youll see a bulb harness on the backside. pull harness away looking for any locking tabs on the harness. Now there is a ring that holds the bulb in, turn it 1/4 CCW and the ring should come off and the bulb is now free to oull out. Dont touch new bulb with fingers, the oil will cause a hot spot and the bulb will fail prematurely, Assembly is opposite removal, Check your bulbs in the parking lights while you are at it, Sylvania #168 5W/12V.

I own a 1990 f-150, so it should be the same. Pop the hood and on the back of the headlight assembly is a seal, you can see the wires coming from it. Unscrew the seal and the light is right on there, just pull the light apart from the seal and your good to go, when putting the new light in, try not to touch the glass part of the bulb, because it somehow takes away from the life of the light. I know i didnt explain it that good maybe you can work with this
