Open hood, look at the back of the assembly and locate the 4 hex bolts that hold the unit in place. Remove the bolts, slide the unit away from the body, and disconnect the wiring harness. You can also access/remove the turn signal unit when the headlight assembly is removed by sliding it forward and disconnecting the wiring harness. Reverse the process to install.
This reply is good for both the 1998 S70 and 1998 V70 with headlight wipers. Note that there is a tab along the bottom edge of a headlight assembly for the wiper blade to rest upon.
Begin by removing the wiring harness from the back of 2004 Volvo headlight. Remove the headlight assembly retaining bolts. Reverse the process to install your new headlight assembly.
To replace the headlight on a Volvo V70 you first need to remove the mounting bolts that go through the radiator core support. Remove the assembly with a ratchet and socket. Next, remove the locking collars from the back and remove the old bulb. Replace with new bulb and reverse directions.
No you do not, there are 3 bolts you need to remove in order to take out the headlight. Don't remember off the top of my head where they are located but you should see them. I think they are 12mm bolts.

this web site is awsome
It is quite a chore. The various Volvo forums have detailed instructions, the quick answer is you have to pull the front fascia off the car to get to the lens assembly. Once there, there are some clips that hold the lens on.
it's located beside the passenger side.
Forget it. I figured it out.

Hello, Could you please tell me how to replace a headlight bulb, on a 2004 Volvo S80 T6. Thank You So Much!! Open the hood. On the back side of the headlight unit is a round cover. Give it a twist an it will come off. unplug the electrical connector from the bulb then release the two spring wire holders on either side of the bulb. Install in reverse order but DO NOT touch the glass part of the new bulb as oil from fingers will shorten the life of the halogen bulb greatly.
A headlight bulb on a 1982 Volvo 240 is accessed through the engine bay. Lift the hood and safely prop it open. Locate the headlight housings and pull the old bulbs off. Install the new lights.
Yes they can. The lens are clipped on and have a gasket between the lens and the reflector.
this should help: http://www.matthewsvolvosite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14819
its soldered into the central electronics module (A grey box) which is located behind the dashboard just underneath the main headlight switch.
Just go to this website guaranteed you will get your answer. http://www.lakesidedp.com/volvo/Thermostat/
its located at the bottom of the shifter assembly under the consol.
use a piece of duct tape and wrap the clutch assembly
My friend has a 1982 Volvo Station Wagon 240 GL that needs headlights replaced, what is the best way to go about this and about how much will it cost?
yes, so long as they are the same type (mine are H7 Xenon)
Begin by removing the wiring harness from your 1983 Volvo 240 turn signal lamp. Remove the turn signal lamp assembly retaining bolts. The turn signal lamp assembly will come out. Reverse the process to install the new turn signal lamp assembly.
Open the hood. Near the front of the turn signal assembly there is a Phillips head screw. Loosen but do not remove the screw; it releases the front of the assembly. You then need to pull forward to release the pin holding the rear of the assembly. Reverse the above to replace the assembly.
Look at http://www.volvoclub.org.uk/tech/service/850/WiperWasherSystem.pdf It says it all for a 850!
Your headlight wipers should come on when you spray your windshield washer fluid.
Need to know the model. As is, you could be talking about a passenger car, or a tractor-trailer power unit. Generally, you just depress the tab in the bulb ballast on the backside of the headlamp assembly, twist counterclockwise, and it should come right out, allowing you to replace the bulbs. This is, of course, assuming your vehicle has composite headlights, and not sealed beam headlights.
Take off door cover drill out the rib it's take out the star bit bolt drop whole assembly then replace ribbits
