You need to go down to the passageway that opens when you turn the gargoyle and follow it around to the left, thru the locked door (you might have to solve the rune puzzle first), down the staircase, to the right, and you need to use the fingers of the statue in the closet to move the Mercury statue on the other side of the wall to a certain position (body facing you, eyes looking up). Personally, I think Message in a Haunted Mansion [MHM] is easier than The Curse of Blackmoor Manor [CUR] because it was made before it, so their are less puzzles to deal with, and it goes along much more quickly.
ND Curse of Blackmoor Manor, and other games, can be downloaded directly from the Her Interactive website, by paying money. There's no legal way I know of to download it free, however.
