To remove spare a tire from a GMC Envoy pull at the base of the cable this should free the bracket under the tire. Then take your jack lift up on the tire and slide it off. If you can not remove the bracket you can go to an auto shop and have it removed.
Any wreckers yard.
May be under the rear passenger's seat
I had this problem with my spare. If you have turned the crank to lower the tire and nothing happens STOP. I did this and borke the plastic that covers the coil of wire! Get out another jack and jack up the center of the spare. It has a safety on it that will lock the spare in the event of a cord failure. Jacking up the center of the spare tire will release it. Just make sure your no where near it if it falls off the jack. Oh and if this doesn't work right away STOP JACKING IT UP!!!!
The way that you take down the spare tire will depend on the make and model of the vehicle. Some SUVs have the spare tire under the vehicle and require a special tool to wind the tire down to the ground.
To lower the spare tire you need to some tools and a jack. There is a cable winch holding the spare in place, so you will have to loosen it using your tools.
On 2000 era Grand Caravans, you use your tire iron to turn the 'bolt' in the floor to crank down the tire. The 'bolt' is hidden under a plastic carpet-coloured cap near the middle of the floor at the rear. Turn counter-clockwise to lower the spare tire. On some models a pop-in type of hanger is used and, after cranking the tire down a bit, the tire won't actually drop so you will need to use something to pry the spare tire down out of its socket before continuing to lower tire.
2. Turn the wheel wrench counterclockwise to lower the spare tire. Keep turning the wheel wrench until the spare tire can be pulled out from under the vehicle. If the spare tire does not lower to the ground, the secondary latch is engaged causing the tire not to lower. See "Secondary Latch System" later in this section. When the tire has been completely lowered, tilt the retainer at the end of the cable and pull it through the wheel opening. Pull the tire out from under the vehicle. Notice: If you drive away before the spare tire or secondary latch system cable has been reinstalled, you could damage your vehicle. Always reinstall this cable before driving your vehicle. 3. Put the spare tire near the flat tire. 4. Position the chisel end of your wheel wrench in the notch of the center cap and pry off the center cap. See "Removing the Flat Tire and Installing the Spare Tire" later in this section to continue changing the flat tire. 5-77.
You can get the spare tire off a 94 Chevy Silverado truck by reached under the rear bumper and turning the release knob. It will slowly lower the tire down until it can safely be removed from the mount.
Spare tire is located under the rear of the vehicle. Pop the rear hatch and there is a small hole even with the bumper in the center. Off to the right is your jack and all other accessoried. Using the tools, there is a long "wrench" that you can use to lower the spare tire. By turning the wrenching device counter clockwise, you'll see the tire lower down.
