In virtual families free,you only can have one child and you cannot have home improvements and varied items, But in virtual families full version,you can have up to six children and you can have home improvements and varied items.

How do you fix the birdbath in Virtual Families?
First you have to go to the store and buy the birdbath pump (it's a green thing). It will be in the "Varied Items" section. If it's not there you will have to check again later. Once you find it, and buy it, drag it from your dock to the birdbath. Then pause the game by hitting space bar and put two adults on the birdbath. May take a few tries but eventually they will start fixing it.
