You cant. The only time you even get to be in contact with Tidus is at the very end of the game if you finish the game. He is not a selectable character.

cause Tidus was only a Yu-Yevins Dream, so he didnt technichally exist so he had to go any way, FFX2 Yuna finds him tidus is only a dream. he don't really exist, but if he could he would stay with her. he fell in love with her and she fell for him but since he wasn't real, he had to go. now if you want him back, then you have to complete 100% of ffx2, even the mini games. there's very few who have made it. and just a heads up... he looks better in 10.
