The World Trade Center Station is at the corner of Barclay and Church Streets, 1 block north of Ground Zero. The World Trade Center site is bordered by Vesey Street to the north, Church Street to the east, West Street to the west, and Liberty Street to the south.
Take the E to 7th Avenue-53rd Street. Then walk 6 blocks north to 59th Street. Central Park runs south to north from 59th to 110th Street, and west to east from 8th to 5th Avenue. So you will enter the park at the south end, near the center.
Note that the portion of 59th Street that borders the park is called Central Park South, the portion of 110th Street that borders the park is called Central Park North, and the portion of 8th Avenue that borders the park is called Central Park West.
However, for some reason, the portion of 5th Avenue that borders the park is not called Central Park East.

∙ 12y agoIt depends on where on 42nd Street you're coming from: west, east, or in between. Central Park is on the West Side of Manhattan. Fifth Avenue is the dividing line between the West and East Sides of Manhattan. Central Park runs from 59th Street to 110th Street, between 8th and 5th Avenues.
The portion of 59th Street that borders the park is called Central Park South, the portion of 110th Street that borders the park is called Central Park North, and the portion of 8th Avenue that borders the park is called Central Park West. But for some reason, the portion of 5th Avenue that borders the park is not called Central Park East.
You can either walk (north to 59th Street, and west to 8th Avenue or east to 5th Avenue), or take the subway. It's a little less than a mile (1.6 km) walk, if you're heading straight uptown (if you're walking straight up 8th Avenue, 7th Avenue, Broadway, 6th Avenue, or 5th Avenue to 59th Street). If you're coming from further east or west, it becomes a 1 to 1.5 mile (1.6 to 2.4 km) walk.
Almost every subway line stops at 42nd Street, so you have many options, depending on which avenues are closest to your starting point, and what area of the park you want to go to:
You can take the Uptown 2 or 3 express trains, from 42nd Street-Times Square to 110th Street-Central Park North (at Lenox Avenue, north end of the park).
Or you can take the Uptown 1 local train (of the 1-2-3, the red line) from 42nd Street-Times Square (at 7th Avenue/Broadway) to 59th Street-Columbus Circle. Or you can take it to 66th Street-Lincoln Center, 72nd Street, 79th Street, 86th Street, or 96th Street (at Broadway). Then walk east to Central Park West: Broadway ---> Amsterdam ---> Columbus ---> Central Park West.
The 1 train goes much further uptown than 96th Street, but if you're going that far up, you might as well take the 2 or 3 express trains to 110th-CPN.
Or you can take the Uptown A express train (of the A-C-E, the blue line) from 42nd Street-Port Authority (at 8th Avenue) to 59th Street-Columbus Circle (at the southwest corner of the park, and the 3-way intersection of Broadway, 59th Street and 8th Avenue).
Or you can take the Uptown C local train from 42nd Street-Port Authority to 59th Street-Columbus Circle, 72nd Street, 81st Street-Museum of Natural History, 86th Street, or 96th Street (at Central Park West). Again, it goes much further uptown than 96th Street, but then you should take the 2 or 3.
Or you can take the Uptown N-R-Q (the yellow line) from 42nd Street-Times Square to 59th Street-5th Avenue (southeast corner of the park).
Or you can take the Uptown D express train (of the B-D-F-M, the orange line) from 42nd Street-Bryant Park (at 6th Avenue) to 59th Street-Columbus Circle.
