One way is said to be from overheating another way is that the yellow light was temporarily fixed and has came back. It is not really a problem for the lower power consumption slim PS3s and more a problem for the earlier model PS3s.
Fixing the YLOD on the PS3 will cost $150.00.
I believe that was a fat PS3 problem

You may never get it. Only some of the PS3 models have gotten the yellow light of death and not every one in any one model version has gotten it

PS3 Slim Seems to be the same kinda, PS3 60g gets alot of YLOD's, ( Yellow Light Of Deaths).

The game does not cause the yellow light of death. You can know this for sure because not every person who has a PS3 that had the yellow light of death has played Call of Duty games.
