squeeze with your legs and hold contact in the reins! when the horse drops his head give a longer rein so they know they are doing right

you can also bring your hands higher and squeeze with your outside rein and when your horse/pony goes in an outline be gentle and stop squeezing the horse will get comfortable with the position in time and go in an outline more often, make sure to keep your leg on and give your pony a pat when he/she has gone well
