If you think they can afford to buy it and you live in a place that is big enough for a horse - you need to find advertisements for ponys for sale. Call places and find out how much it costs to feed it. Find out about vaccinations or any medical stuff the horse might need. Get lots of details.

Then, you have to promise to take care of it. Tell your parents that you will keep the manure shoveled up and you'll feed & water it - and they won't have to do anything. Having a horse of any size requires a lot of work. You have to make your parents believe that you will be responsible for it.

If you have other responsibilties (i.e. other pets, instruments, cleaning your room) it is always good to show that you can do all of what you have to do now, and still have plenty of time for caring for a pony

Just think...Do you really want a pony? You will have to get up early every day to muck out, groom and ride. In the winter it will be cold. A pony needs a lot of attention and is also very expensive. If you have asked your parents and they have said no then here is what to do. It will take a while but it should hopefully work.

Step 1: List all of the reasons why you should be bought a pony and give it to your parents.

Step 2: If they still say no then start giving really good care to another animal such as a dog or cat. Brush them and if it is a dog then walk it. Buy it toys and do everything you could possibly do to make your parents feel that you are mature enough to take care of a pony.

Step 3: Get up early every day to prove that you are capable of getting up early. Maybe even take the dog for a walk to prove to your parents that you are capable of getting up early and going out in to the cold and not complaining.

These steps should hopefully help you. If not then keep repeating step 1 and if they still refuse then stop because it will just end up annoying them.

Hope this helps :)

Beg beg and beg until she lets you get one!

Answer:

Whether your parents will buy you a pony depends on how much spare income they have, what you can contribute towards it, and how responsible they feel you are. No amount of begging or persuading will work if they simply can't afford the cost, and will only serve to make your parents feel bad. If on the other hand they can afford it, then work on showing them how responsible you can be, and that you are willing to contribute towards the cost as well as the care - get out and find yourself a job or weekend job to help pay for the pony./ Volunteer at your local stables or with a current horse/ pony owner so you can get hands on experience of caring for horses. You might also take some pony care exams so that you are fully prepared for ownership.

If there's really no way that your parents can help you, then save up yourself and buy a horse when you have the funds to both buy AND care for it long term. You might also consider loaning or sharing with another owner, which is often cheaper in the long run.

This is avery big responsibility, if none of you have any experience with horses, I would advise waiting until you are old enough to get some eduction or training in them.
If you already do, then why not show them how good you are with horses, take them to a good stable and let them see you in action.
show them you know about their feeding, maintaining, exercise and health requirements.
If they have the money and trust in you, I don't see why they wouldn't.
Its all about knowing that you can undertake such a responsibility maturely. Leasing a horse is 100% more work then lets say owning a rabbit/reptile or dog & its about 100% more maintenance money too.

Well I hope this helps though! =]

  • write a list of all the positive things of getting a horse! go over the top a little!
  • go on websites like horse mart or horse deals, to let your mum or dad to see the cute horses faces, that will soften them up a bit!
  • make sure that you start getting into horse riding if you don't already, this will show them how knowledgeable you are of horses!

Hope this helps!

Well you should have taken riding lessons, know at least basic horse care and be able to pay for part of the horses care. Once you are able to do that it should be fairly easy to convince them.
