wait until one sends you a gift.. when you accept it mafia wars will rompt you to "gift back". or click on my mafia and go into a mafia members profile and click on the gift button.you can also go to the inventory tab and there you will see an option of gifting. you can choose there an item you can gift and the members of your mafia that you can send gifts to.

you can have as many items as you desire. the number of mafia does not affect how many items you may have but the number of mafia helps you in fights and robbing. the more mafia, the stronger you get in fights.

Bonus weapons can be purchased or won. The cost in cash can be very high... in the $200,000 dollar range. They can be purchased under inventory. I think the best way to get bonus weapons is to gift them when your session starts at the beginning of the game to others and then have them gift them back to you. If you have two accounts, ie. play two characters, you can gift one to the other, but that will require different email addresses.
