A chicken(hen) should be secured safely and you should have the shot ready before giving the injection. On one side of the chicken's chest, find the middle of the breast. Avoid going close to the breast bone, or too close to the wing, to low by the abdomen, or too high by the neck. Smack dab in the middle. When you find the right spot, separate the feathers on a good meaty looking spot and give the shot like you would do any other animal. Inject the needle into the muscle and press the medicine out.
