Find the player you are interested in giving the item to, right click their portrait (which should be at the top of your screen, next to your portrait) and select trade. Put the item in the trade window and click Trade in the lower right corner of the trade window.

∙ 13y agoThis depends entirely on which FF game you are playing.
However the functions are pretty much the same.
Either select an item during a turn in battle and select the character you wish to heal or effect. (Remember that the character you want to effect has to be present in your party during the battle.)
Or whilst out of battle, go to the menu and select an item, then select the character you want to effect from your party in the menu section.
